When I thought of writing about this topic I happened to look through various reports which comes in online news portal. One intresting article I read was about UP Government. Our beloved CM of the state announced that the government of UP cant afford the programme and the centre didnt consult state government before coming out with a rule. What a sad state of affairs for the people in the state? Money is been spend on statues and garlands but not for well being of the people of the state. I beleive lot of leaders of country is scared about this rule. From being from Kerala I know how much education will change people. We got a community which is 97% educated in Kerala.
There are lot of debates happening in the country about this rule.
One I have noticed is about the reservation of 25% of seats of private schools for under privilleged children. I happen to see one debate in one TV channel and I noticed principal of one major school in Mumbai telling, how she could invite these 25% under privilleged children for the birthday party of the superstars son studying in the school. Oops. She is the principal of the school I fear what is going to be the mindset of the children studying there. Students in these private schools is been labelled in their parents visiting card. Is that the right way to do things. Students loose their individualism because of this. They consider themselves as stars when they are in the school itself. When a principal is injecting this attitude into the students we can clearly understand why these people are against the law.
The point to be noted is that only 7% of the education across India done by private schools, 93% is government. I see this principal as same as the CM of Uttar Pradesh. There is not much of difference in their attitude its all the same.
Central Government has made a great move by coming out with a legislation on education. Its wonderful. I know the implementation is going to be difficult, where the finanacial commitment is going to be huge and also when we see lot of Mayawati`s around.
